Daxi, located in Toucheng Township, Yilan County, is the third-largest fishing port in Yilan. It has both a new and an old port. The old port is currently used exclusively by fishermen, while the new port has a fish market for transactions between fishermen and the public. Daxi Fishing Port mainly operates on a daily basis, with fresh catches coming in every day. On weekends, the fish market is bustling with activity. The primary seafood varieties include prawns, along with other species like red mullet, white croaker, and eels. Many people come here to purchase fresh and affordable seafood. Currently, Daxi Fishing Port is also developing towards becoming a tourist fishing port, with whale watching, island hopping, and boat fishing activities available in the surrounding area.
