Toucheng Seaside Forest Park, formerly known as Toucheng Beach, was a major aquatic attraction in Northern Taiwan in the early years, but due to coastal erosion and the gradual loss of the extensive sandy beach, it eventually lost its function as a beach area. In 2015, the Yilan County Government renamed Toucheng Beach as Toucheng Seaside Forest Park, opening up the land area to visitors for recreation and prohibiting them from playing in the water, swimming, and engaging in aquatic activities.
